About Us
SS Industrial Cable Corporation is a woman owned business, founded in 1981 by Claire Sullivan, making cables in her two and a half car garage. She used hand cutters, strippers and crimpers to hand craft cable assemblies.
In 1982 we moved into a rented 900 square foot building and started purchasing power equipment to help with productivity.
In 1987 we purchased land in Port Washington, Wisconsin, and in August of 1989 a new 2,400 square foot manufacturing facility was built. In 1996 we added 3,600 square feet to our facility for a total of 6,000 square feet, utilizing 4,000 square feet for our cable manufacturing and leasing out the balance of the building, which was planned for future expansion.
Since the inception, Claires' son Michael has joined the company as VP. Currently Claire has three generations of family employed at the corporate location, with 18 employee's total.
